The coronavirus pandemic has given us time and space for self-reflection. This resulted in a project that uses surveys to explore ideas of closeness in times of social distancing: What is our basic understanding of closeness? How has this had to be reorganized in phases of lockdown?
To approach this understanding, I used unconventional survey methods (reflecting moods in lockdown phases via songs/pictures) and online surveys (multiple-choice questions). These ideas of closeness were visualized in a book. I experimented with the possibilities of riso printing.
In addition to this “mood picture”, the focus was on my personal feelings: “Closeness in the NOW” is a private examination of a topic that currently affects everyone to varying degrees.
