In the 5th semester, prints on the set theme of ‘Mother Animal’ were created while exploring different printing techniques.
The Eve in all of us
Each of our body cells tells the family history of humankind. In the article ‘The Eve in all of us’, Stefan Schmitt shows that our body cells contain the trace of a single primordial mother from archaic times. Palaeoanthropologists refer to the bottlenecks in our family history, where only a few individuals passed on their genetic material, as genetic bottlenecks. The realisation of the prints refers to this fact.
Eine Hommage
A series of 4 photographs of my mother: realised in screen printing and overprinted with linocuts, which are intended to bring out the hair structure as a detail.
